We have been recreating some images from camp. Our task was to choose one day from camp and create two images from that day. We used pencil first, then watercolour paint. We will be adding more detail next week using pencil and sharpie marks. We are looking forward to showing them off next week at assembly.

Camp day 4!
Our last day at camp. We were a bit sad to leave! On the way home we stopped at Nugget Point and walked out to the lighthouse then carried onto Kaka Point for lunch. A quick stop at Balclutha at the park and then back to school. We would all like to say a big thank you to all the wonderful parents who helped us at camp - we really appreciate your time and effort. Thank you too to Mr Marshall for spending the week with us.
CAMP WAS AWESOME!!!
CAMP WAS AWESOME!!!
Camp day 3
Another busy but amazing day today! We had activities day and we had a great time going around the 3 rotations - kayaking, fishing and orienteering. We were lucky with the fishing - 13 fish in total! Some very nice locals gave us some great tips! Mrs Jackson was so proud of everyone today, especially those that found themselves trying something new. Taking on new challenges saw many of room 7 finding a new activity that they really enjoyed doing and were pretty good at too! We ended our day with a stroll down Surat Bay. We saw 1 large sea lion and enjoyed creating camp themed artworks in the sand.

Day 2 Pounawea!
We have had a very busy day! A nature walk, a trip to the museum, a walk up to see Jacks blowhole and some time at the rocky shore. We are pretty hardy souls and carried on through the rain at the shore. We saw heaps of crabs and it was all very exciting! Roll on day 3!
Good morning from camp!
A beautiful morning here in Pounawea. We are getting ready for our nature walk. Lots of adventures await us today.

Crazy Room 7
The long awaited crazy class photos! As a class we posed so beautifully for a whole class photo - but..we had to have a couple of crazy ones!
Pastel Koru
We have been exploring blending colours using pastels. As a class we discussed the colour wheel and colour families then we chose 3 colours to practice with. We blended dark to light, being careful to blend the edges of the colours together.
We learnt about koru and looked at how NZ artist Reuben Patterson incorporated them into this artworks. In his glittery patterned artworks he used limited colours and repeated patterns.
After having some practice with drawing a koru shape we created our final koru's. We carefully created black outlines using creative paint and left them to dry. When our koru were ready we chose our 3 final pastel colours and coloured them in.
To display our koru Mrs Jackson arranged them together, each koru is connected - supporting or growing from another. This symbolises our class - we are all connected and if we help support each other we all will learn and grow.
